ODESSA PHILLIP
President and CEO of Assedo Consulting
I am the President and CEO of Assedo Consulting, LLC, where I lead a multidisciplinary team focused on helping clients plan, communicate, and deliver complex infrastructure projects. Since founding the firm in 2012, I have guided strategic engagement approaches to build trust and create lasting community impact for government and private sector clients across the Washington-Baltimore region.
I lead initiatives across a range of scales and complexity, from large infrastructure initiatives to smaller, place-based efforts that require the same level of attention and coordination. With a background in civil engineering, I bring a technical foundation that supports infrastructure projects across a range of disciplines, helping ensure that technical, planning, and communication efforts are well-integrated and aligned with project goals. I advise clients on transportation, utilities, and urban planning efforts, helping to navigate stakeholder relationships, align priorities, and move projects forward with confidence. I place a strong emphasis on inclusive engagement and am committed to ensuring historically underrepresented voices are informed, included, and actively involved throughout project development and delivery.
Through my involvement with Women Transportation Seminar (WTS) and COMTO, I contribute to expanding opportunities across the region and mentor students and professionals as they grow and advance in their careers. At Assedo, I prioritize building a culture where team members are empowered to lead, grow, and contribute to work that strengthens the people and places we serve. We bring together expertise in planning, communications, branding, facilitation, mapping, social media, partnership building, and more. I proudly serve on the Board of the Maryland Environmental Service and the Howard University College of Engineering and Architecture’s Civil and Environmental Department Advisory Board. These organizations align deeply with my passion for educating the next generation about STEM careers and keeping them focused on sustaining a healthy environment for the next generation.
I hold a BS in Civil Engineering from Howard University and a MEng in Construction Project Management from the University of Maryland, College Park.
