Position: GIS/Planner I

Responsibilities: As a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist I look at our projects geospatially, creating mapping and data products that inform our internal team, our clients, and the public about critical public utilities upgrades, infrastructure, and construction projects, as well as other public/private partnership restoration plans in area neighborhoods. My duties include updating and maintaining our databases, data visualization and cartography, and anticipating client needs.

As public outreach specialists, we provide education so that the public is equipped to become involved as stakeholders, engaged in the planning and completion of projects in their neighborhoods. It is satisfying to know we are providing information and transparency, enabling neighbors to be active in their own community welfare.

Background: After a BA in Communications and a career in broadcast television, I returned to school for a career change and received an AAS in Applied Geography and certificate in Cartography/GIS.
