BONNIE JOHANSEN

Senior Utility Advisor/Project Manager

I oversee, manage, and provide strategic guidance on a range of large energy projects, including electric, gas, fiber, and communications systems. My work involves close coordination with utility clients and project teams to lead execution of all aspects of outreach and engagement, from pre-construction and permitting through construction.

I provide a deep understanding of the energy industry, grounded in decades of experience leading complex, high-visibility energy projects. I manage teams navigating technical requirements, stakeholder coordination, and public engagement needs. I find fulfillment in collaboration and enjoy helping move projects forward successfully.

Before joining Assedo, I spent more than 35 years at Baltimore Gas and Electric, retiring in 2022 as Senior Manager of Large Projects. In that role, I led major electric and gas initiatives and built long-standing relationships with elected officials, state and local agencies, the Maryland Public Service Commission, community leaders, and developers. That experience continues to shape how I approach utility work today, with a commitment to building trust, enhancing communication, and delivering projects that effectively serve both clients and communities.

Why Assedo? The Assedo team is a diverse group of people with extensive experience in GIS support, outreach development, planning, and execution. The team is great to work with, and I enjoy engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to help support successful projects.

I hold a BS in Biology and Chemistry from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina.
